A raise-and-build under renovation of a pre-1911 Queenslander cottage, with a simple new double carport to the front designed to sit quietly beneath and highlight the home’s original façade.
One key site constraint was the reduced side boundary setback, which required the new lower-level wall to be set back to meet fire separation requirements. The existing upper wall could remain in place provided it was left unaltered, allowing the design to retain more of the original home.
