A Queenslander cottage raise-and-build with a new rear extension and front carport, carefully designed to retain and highlight the home’s original character.
The new build-under areas use a contrasting colour palette to distinguish the addition while highlighting the original Queenslander above. The front carport preserves valuable garden and pool space at the rear, while under-balcony space is used for storage where enclosed building area is limited. The rear extension follows passive solar design principles, with main living areas oriented to the north to maximise natural light and strengthen the connection to the outdoors.
